Hola everyone! π
Hope youβre all doing great! Iβve got a ton of exciting updates to share β new releases across the board, major Express.js milestones, Node.js updates, and even a little bit of kawaii flair π«
Express 5.1 is Live!
After months of steady work, weβve officially released [email protected]! This marks a big step forward for the framework, with v5 now being the default on npm π
Key highlights:
- New LTS plan (for the first time in Express history!) β v5 LTS timeline and v4 EOL announced
- New codemod for seamless v4 to v5 migrations
- Tons of enhancements and fixes β Full changelog
- Shipped several libraries as part of the Express 5.1 rollout: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]...
- Check out the v5.1 roadmap for more details on the decisions that we made.
Node.js Releases: 20.19.1 & 22.15.0
It had been a while since I released Node.js versions, so I was a bit rusty π . This week, I finally had a window to jump back in and release [email protected] and [email protected] with nearly 350 commits!.
Huge thanks to @RafaelGSS for leading the charge preparing the releases.
Node.js Test Infra Incident
We recently published a postmortem on the CI infrastructure incident. Thanks to the community for the quick response and for helping keep the project secure.
As a reminder, we welcome responsible security testing β but please coordinate through HackerOne or the TSC to prevent disruptions.
Express gets Kawaii
Finally, how cute is this new Express alternative logo by @Sawaratsuki?
A playful logo that reads "Express" in bold, stylized letters with cute Japanese katakana above it spelling "γγγγ·γγ" (express). A pastel train track loops around the text with colorful stars. Below, a yellow banner displays Japanese text reading "ι«ιγ»ι©ζ°ηγ»ζε°ι" meaning "High-speed, innovative, minimal." This is an alternate version of the Express logo.
Perfect for our high-speed, minimalistic, and now adorably stylish framework (γγγγ·γγ β¨ ι«ιγ»ι©ζ°ηγ»ζε°ι).
As always, thank you all for being part of this journey. Whether youβre shipping code, giving feedback, or just following along β your support means the world β€οΈ
Stay awesome,
